The MyIPO's new IP Valuation Financing Fund initiative seeks to help businesses with valuable intellectual property but limited access to conventional financing have their intangible assets recognised within the banking sector's formal valuation system.

In a recent trademark opposition case, the High Court clarified that “at the same time” under Regulation 24(2) of the Trademarks Regulations 2019 does not necessarily mean that a counterstatement must be served on the opponent on the exact same day it is filed. A two-day delay in service does not automatically result in the trademark application being deemed withdrawn. Instead, the Registrar has discretion to consider the circumstances of each case.
